Reflective Course Narrative
This class was a short winter semester class. The class consisted of only six students. this is one thing that I like because we were all allowed a chance to vocalize our opinions and speak almost freely. The professor was very interesting and had a huge intellectual background. He taught us much about the history of Spanish music starting back with Sephardic melodies. We had a booklet with many songs and their lyrics written in it. We would listen to the songs as we read along. It really gave me an insight into the culture and the changes throughout Spanish history. We wrote one paper and took an exam at the end. In my paper I discussed why so many lullabies had creepy and almost demonic lyrics aggressively sing towards babies. Federico Garcia Lorca wrote a piece on this and I was able to incorporate that into my essay.
